Man wept open
For his child,
He missed those
Smiles, that
Father wild.
The servants
Clapped,
"Here, here,"
Yelled they:
That love is
Shown, not
Unafraid.

In one heart,
Though, there's
Not all joy,
He'd prepped
And primped
Taught that boy.
But, lo that child
Is more than he:
In father's eyes,
That's how it'd be.

The man told
Him to "mind his place",
Don't hurt my boy,
Don't curse my face.
The servant
Mused, and with
A shrug just
Left that
Boy to pull
And tug
His father's
Heartstrings
All day long:
They wouldn't
Miss him when
He's gone.
